Matt and I connected the OAT wiring, shortened the pilot stick so it didn’t hit the panel, did some other minor wiring, and installed the two main displays. Everything powered up!
Cut down the control stick to install the grips. I went with the Tosten CS8 grips that will control the trim, push to talk, autopilot disconnect, transponder ident, and radio flip flop.
Wired up the majority of the GAD27. This device controls the flaps and the landing light wigwag function.
GTN650 mounted, no wiring yet. Did fabricate two more plugs… Many more to go! GTN650 is the large touch screen at the top of the stack.
I’ve been doing tons of wiring, so far I have 5 Garmin plugs fabricated many more to go…
James Below came over with my modified panel. I was then able to start installing the center radio stack and auto pilot. Looks incredible!
From bottom to top is the GMC 307 autopilot controller, the GMA 245 audio panel, and the GTR 200 com radio.
Installed the oil cooler and ducting, still need to order the oil lines. Also installed the bus manager and did some other wiring.
Visited Rick Pezze to solder on the din connector for the ELT. Thanks Rick! Also visited Glenn Bottsford’s hanger at Mitchell and checked out his firewall. Got home and fabricated and installed the antenna cables for the transponder and the ADSB in.
