So all that progress earlier has been taken apart. The ribs and skins were deburred and dimpled. Gave me a chance to try out some more tools. I’ve realized that a pneumatic rivet squeezer will pinch a finger off in a hurry if you’re not careful.
Got started on the horizontal spar. It includes the hinge brackets for the elevator.

I’ve ordered the empennage for the RV7 on 8/15/12. Vans did not make this an easy decision. Just prior to making my order, Vans released a new model. The RV14 is a slightly bigger airplane, but the kit is more refined. It is also more expensive, primarily because it requires a larger engine. The price difference is expected to be about $20,000. That made the decision a bit easier.
